Kurt is a Portland boy, through and through. After earning a master’s degree in law from the University of Glasgow, he moved to Lyon, France, where he and a business partner founded a brewery and gastropub called Ninkasi. By the time Kurt left France, Ninkasi had grown to include five locations. He returned to the States where he consulted for cruise lines and got his MBA at UC Berkeley before settling back in his hometown of Portland. Kurt founded ChefStable in 2008, with the mission to open culinary concepts geared toward the vision of individual chefs.
